ANTI RACIST EDUCATION

BREAKFAST CLUBS

Our breakfast clubs deliver anti racist education for young people in an engaging and digestible format. We use activities to demonstrate key topics, all the while, encouraging our students to discuss and share their opinions.

We have developed Breakfast Clubs Against Racism, teaching children about racism, to deliver education and leadership skills, starting at a young enough age so they are aware of the topic of race but have not yet developed fully instilled biases.

These Breakfast Clubs are for everyone aged 10-13. We will be inviting children from all the neighbouring schools to apply. This is a FREE project to attend.

The clubs will run as a 10-week Saturday Club providing anti racist education. Our goal is to educate children on institutional racism in the UK, teaching them about anti-racism and giving them leadership skills so they are able to make positive steps towards equality for themselves and the next generation.

MORE ABOUT OUR BREAKFAST CLUBS

Breakfast Clubs Against Racism has just finished our first 2 community breakfast clubs in South London. Our next cohort of Breakfast Clubs will start in September 2022. If you know of an area that could benefit from a local breakfast club, please do get in touch! We are looking to expand our reach throughout London so all suggestions are welcome.

Our Sessions

Each of our sessions consists of a healthy breakfast and a new topic each week. We educate on important themes such as racism in law enforcement, white privilege and how to combat institutional racism through games, activities and discussions. All opinions are welcomed and respected.

Cultural Activities

We introduce differewnt cultural activities as part of the breakfast clubs to introduce the students to another culture that they don't know much about. We hosted an African drumming workshop at our Catford club and a West African storytelling through dance workshop at our Peckham club.

Field Trips

We introduce at least 1 field trip per Breakfast Club. We merged the 2 groups and took the students up into London to examine the South Asian cultures of Whitechapel and then we took a private history tour about how London was involved in the slave trade and somekey moments around London.

Our Mission

Our mission is to permanently and ultimately create racial equality in the UK and worldwide by teaching children about racism and how to combat it. We have asked for racial equality along with many, many generations and the world is not hearing us. By providing children with anti racist education, we can be the change we want to see in the world.
